Press Release Summary = Jokechamp.com, a 2-year humor site is now on sale on ebay
Press Release Body = Jokechamp.com was bought a couple of months back on ebay.com with the intent to develop, but I got pulled into too many directions at once, hence I have done virtually nothing with it. I am currently selling a lot of websites to move on to two bigger projects, and I have decided that this one has to go. It is time to streamline, and this site doesn\'t fit in my streamlined plan.
History Jokechamp.com is a two year domain, which means that you are not getting one of those pseudo \"established\" sites that are not even indexed. This site is indexed in google, yahoo and msn, with most of the traffic coming from link exchanges, google and MSN.
This site in itself has seen moments of glory, with peaks at 10 000 uniques/month. Unfortunately, traffic is currently in the range of 500-700 uniques/month. However, because the site offers something for free, there is alway a stream of visitors. The fact though is that this site only needs a bit of TLC to get back on the right track. You already have essential ingredients already in place to accomplish just that : - Traffic - PR - Subscribers (40 subscribers)
That is to say, if you ever wanted to buy a site that is truly established and affordable, this is it.
Description Jokechamp is a community-driven site that grows through the participation of users. It is a post-and-rate type of website, a site where users post and rate jokes and pictures. It is a free service, and this ensures that the site retains its attractiveness potential. Build on this to add more services, where subscribers are at the core.
There are two different users: members and subscribers. Members post jokes. Subscribers have registered to receive jokes through email. You can send the jokes as often or as rarely as you want. And that is the only maintenance involved : post a joke, send a joke. Everything is managed through a very intuitive control panel, that allows you to send email to your subscribers, set your advertising, post and approve jokes and pictures.
The site currently has 244 jokes and 233 pictures indexed (in google). Jokes are included in the sale to help you build the library.
Monetization Potential It is up to you to find ways to monetize this site, but this is what I was planning.
Forum - When I bought the site I was planning to add a forum to increase the volume and participation, and to try to get all the users together. Jokechamp.com is a site that grows through the participation of users, but only you have access to all users, therefore it is not a community. A forum would bring everybody together and in return increase your traffic, and therefore your revenue. A forum is also a place to advertise products and services, and an easy way to increase traffic to your other sites, or to your sponsors\' site, in return increasing revenue. Because of the other projects, I never followed through, but I did find an interesting forum hoster that hosts forums for free. If interested, I will communicate the URL.
Daily/weekly jokes - As the volume of users grows, you gain more subscribers. People sign up to receive jokes through email. In other words, when sending a joke, you are not spamming them. And if it happens that a sponsors has an offer on the same day/week that you are sending the email... then there is no reason why you shouldn\'t let your users know... and get a commission for every lead or sale that you generate...
Free offers - If you know about freeipods sites, you know what I mean. My plan was to integrate this function in a section of the site to increase commission from leads and sales. Traffic would increase through your subscribers, who would be referring people to the site and filling offers to get the ipod, Wii, ps3 or paypal payment. New subscribers would bring in more subscribers. More subscribers
